About Jill Lydia

Jill Lydia

Established in 2010, Jill Lydia’s is a shop created around Jill's passion of collecting china, in particular Burleigh China. Burleigh's designs date back to 1851.

After collecting for 30 years and a visit to the Stoke-on-Trent factory in England (in 2009) Jill realised that only a small fraction of an exceptional range of Burleigh was available in New Zealand.

The extensive range of designs and colours prompted her first shipment to the country for enthusiastic collectors alike.

Each piece is made with care and pride and the skills of generations by following the same 200 year old process of underglaze transfer printing.

Jill Lydia’s retails an impressive selection of 17 Burleigh designs and colourways.

Also available is a small exclusive variety of discontinued patterns which are uniquely and vibrantly merchandised to demonstrate and encourage combining the unique designs, colours, and styles around your kitchen and home together.

After another trip to Stoke-on-Trent in 2012 we were introduced to the beautiful Heron Cross china (this pottery was established in 1876) and is also a "hands on" transfer printing. Jill has 30 designs in store including "Forget-Me-Nots", "Roses", "Lilly of the Valley", "Poppy Chintz" and "Black Meadow Chintz" to name a few.

Once again the versatile jug predominates but there are also butter dishes, cheese wedges, teapots, sugar bowls and comports.

In 2014 Jill Lydias became stockists of Wedgewood. Part of the range in stock includes pieces of "Sarah's Garden", platters, sauce boats, sugar dishes and of course jugs.

Homewares made by Jill include merino felted cushions and throws. Jill is happy to make these to order and can incorporate wording or ideas for all ages and decors.
