About Heron Cross Pottery

Heron Cross Pottery

Heron Cross Pottery was established around 1876 by two brothers, named Hines. The pottery made good quality opaque porcelain and ivory pottery.

The company was purchased in 1907 by Grimwades and the pottery continued to be produced until just after the Second World War.

In 1961 the business was purchased by Frank William Ridge Senior and the business has stayed in the Ridge family ever since.

Heron Cross Pottery today continues to make fine English pottery and earthenware at the Hines Street Pottery factory, and also houses other ceramic companies.
